Auburn wide receiver Jaylon Denson, who was injured on the Tigers' first drive Saturday night against LSU, suffered a torn patella tendon and will require surgery, according to Justin Hokanson from auburnsports.com.
Denson was running a route and reached back for a pass from quarterback Nick Marshall, with the rain coming down and a wet field, the receiver slipped and twisted his knee awkwardly, falling to the turf in pain. Denson was on the ground for several minutes, and he eventually had an air cast placed on his leg before being taken off on a cart.
No timetable has been set for his recovery, but with an injury like this, it's probable that Denson will miss significant time -- likely the remainder of the season.
Denson, a 6'3, 219-pound junior, has caught three passes for 45 yards this season.
