We have a bouquet of speakers, ideas, and more to share with you – Nature’s Bouquet - 2013 GMGA Conference

Douglas Tallamy is the author of Bringing Nature Home and will share his ideas about creating gardens that are also balanced habitats. You can read the first several pages of his book here.

Chris Wiesinger, the Bulb Hunter, founded The Southern Bulb Company to share his finds with the world. As the New York Times puts it ““Mr. Wiesinger makes a living finding pretty things in ravaged places. In 2004 he started the Southern Bulb Company with the aim of reintroducing flowers long out of vogue, committing himself exclusively to those that have ably asserted themselves against the particular cruelties of exceedingly hot weather for decades, even centuries.”

It’s been a busy year for John Ruter! His book on conifers for the Southeast, co-written with Tom Cox, is about to be released and he has recently accepted the  Allan Armitage Professor of Horticulture chair at UGA.

Tim Smalley came to UGA as a teaching assistant for Dr. Michael Dirr after learning and working at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, Scotland, Walt Disney World, and Cornell University. One of his interests has been researching and visiting historic and champion trees throughout Georgia.
