What is Myasthenia Gravis (MG)? MG affects people of any age, race or gender. The most common form of MG is a chronic autoimmuneneuromuscular disorder that is characterized by fluctuating weakness of the voluntary muscle groups,and can affect muscles that control eye movements, eyelids, chewing, swallowing, coughing and facialexpression as well as the arms and legs. MG can also adversely affect breathing.

About MGFA The MGFA (Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America) is the only national volunteer health agencydedicated solely to the fight against myasthenia gravis and to serving patients with MG. MGFA haschapters around the US serving patients, their families and caregivers through support groups andprograms. Each chapter is independently managed and each shares the MGFA vision of a world withoutMG. With monies raised from the MG Walk, the MGFA is committed to finding a cure for myasthenia gravisand closely related disorders, improving treatment options and providing information and support topeople with myasthenia gravis through research, education, community programs, and advocacy.

MG Walk Facts The MG Walk, celebrating it’s inaugural walk in Atlanta, is the signature awareness and fundraisingcampaign for the MGFA. The MG Walk campaign has raised over $1 million since it’s inception. It isdesigned to provide hope for the thousands of families forced to face the challenges caused bymyasthenia gravis. !This effort will raise funds to help the MGFA continue its mission to fund researchand assist those living with MG through a truly inspirational day.!
