On behalf of CNN, the James Weldon Johnson Institute for the Study of Race and Difference at Emory University and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Moderator Christine Romans, CNN Anchor of Your Bottom Line, will be joined by a panel of experts in an open forum discussion about the future of education in America. How do we re-establish the credibility and value of public education in the United States? Many believe that the public educational system is in trouble. It struggles under the weight of politically-charged and competing priorities, controversial new accountability strategies and deep funding inequities. Voices from the left, right and center, from academia, from corporate America, and from philanthropy disagree about what is wrong with public schools and how to fix them. It is crucial that we have a meaningful conversation about what is best for our students. The future of this country depends on our ability to produce an effective and innovative public educational system for America’s youth. Free - registration required
