Come celebrate a monumental figure in American history. This is a breakfast held in celebration of the spirit of civil/human rights started by Martin Luther King Jr. On March 29, 1968, King went to Memphis, Tennessee, in support of the black sanitary public works employees who had been on strike since March 12 for higher wages and better treatment. It was on this trip that King was assassinated. Thus, this event honors King for his support of and great sacrifice for the labor movement. The event includes breakfast and speeches by national and local civil/human rights leaders and labor leaders.
