A Fresh Hope, Paulding Christmas, and area churches are joining together to sponsor Hope for Christmas 2012 on December 8th from 11 am to 6 pm. We will provide food & toys for local families, children will shop for free presents for parents & grandparents. All of this will be in a fun, Christ-centered environment as families visit Santa, make a craft, celebrate Christmas and enjoy refreshments during their visit.
Hope for Christmas 2012 will be held at four different sites. This volunteer registration website is ONLY for the GracePointe Church location in Marietta. If you are interested in signing up for Trinity Chapel Church, West Ridge Church - Cartersville, or West Ridge Church - East Paulding, then please return to http://www.hopeforchristmas.com and choose the correct location.
Over 300 volunteer opportunities are available to serve the 120 families expected to attend at this location. As you can see from the Ticket Information above, there will be volunteer opportunities for everyone. Each person can sign up for one or multiple activities, as long as the assignments do not have conflicting time commitments. Although most needs will be for Saturday, December 8th, there will be many opportunities to help in the weeks before. Many assignments in the areas of registration, the sorting of toys, food, and Secret Santa gifts will be completed BEFORE December 8th. In some cases scheduling of time may be flexible but will be coordinated by the team leader for that area.
**ALL workers over 18 years of age in the “Secret Santa Shop/Volunteer”, & “Crafts/Secret Santa Helper” areas must be prescreened - i.e. - background check performed - and approved to work with children. If you have not previously been through the screening process or need to have your approval updated, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for instructions on how to obtain one for ten dollars; OR - GracePointe will have the check done for you for a $10.00 fee. Contact email@example.com. This must be completed before Nov 18.INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOLUNTEERING: Just ignore the dates shown in the column named "End" - the software won't let me change all of them from the 7th to the 8th; however, the event is, indeed, on December 8, 2012. To volunteer, please select the number of the volunteers you're registering - from the drop-down list in the last column on the right - for the area(s) you would like to work & select one registration for each family member (6th grade or older) serving. You can select multiple areas to serve on the same registration. Once you have selected your volunteer choices, then select “Register” at the bottom of the list to complete the process. Please specify on the Registration page the names for each person serving & the ages for all high school & middle school students. Enter the required information & select “Complete Registration”. Note: Families are welcome to serve together, but ONLY COUNT adults & children 6th grade & older in selecting the number of registrations for the assignment. Elementary-age children are welcome to serve with you but DO NOT select a registration for them; but rather note on the Registration page that they will be serving with you and include their names and ages.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail from Eventbrite. We may also contact you periodically before the event using the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org with additional information regarding your assignment. Please be sure your e-mail account does not direct e-mails from either of these sources to spam or trash.
Please visit the Hope for Christmas website http://www.hopeforchristmas.com for up-to-date information & helpful reminders about volunteering. If you can’t register from this website or have questions, contact Brenda Stauffer at email@example.com. Thanks again for your interest in meeting the needs of our community.
May you have a blessed, Christ-filled holiday!
