Have you gotten a call from an 855 area code number stating that you started an order online and did not finish?

They ask you to call back so they could complete the order and get you a free trial? There is no company name, personal name, or name of any products.

If so, beware!

Lori Silverman in Clark Howard's Consumer Action Center says, "Do not answer and do not call the number back."

A rash of these calls have been going out recently.

Silverman says you never want to answer a call from a number you do not recognize. "It's just like someone knocking on your door and you don't know who it is."

It is a good idea to register your home and mobile phone numbers with the National Do Not Call Registry. This will not stop all unsolicited calls, but it will stop most.
